I am a self-taught artist, and I began creating formally in 2007 when I opened a hands on art studio. I have since closed shop, and have created personal pieces since then. My first love was glass, but was still inspired to paint, and knew canvas and glass were the perfect combination.
When I paint, I visualize a scene that complements my glass art. Most of my paintings have some sort of art glass for a visual 3D aesthetic. Glass art provides texture and more of a statement to my pieces. I hand cut all of the glass, fire them in the kiln and attach them to the canvas. I absolutely love the look of glass, mostly transparent glass, because it reminds me of water, being on the beach, or just the beauty it has when the light hits it just right :) I have experimented, had many glass cut injuries, and learned new things, when it comes to glass art. The possibilities are endless. It is truly timeless beauty. Not only is it a vessel to hold our wine (oh, how I love wine), but it has the potential to become beautiful art. Creating glass art is so healing for me, and now, through my jewelry creations, I can wear my art, and, so can you! That's where Indie Maeve began. Please visit my Indie Maeve shop.
